Michigan State Football took back the Paul Bunyan Trophy after a sizable win over the University of Michigan. MSU Men’s and Women’s basketball teams are off to a great start, winning every game at home so far. And, MSU students react to the new Detroit Tiger’s manager. Focal Point is an Emmy awarding winning, student produced newscast from the School of Journalism at Michigan State University.

Spartan Basketball Back In Action

Thousands of Spartan Fans from across the country got a chance to interact with players and coaches at the annual Midnight Madness event at the Breslin Center on Oct. 18. Coaches Suzy Merchant and Tom Izzo certainly exceeded expectations with their lavish entrances, wowing the crowd, some of who traveled more than nine hours to attend the pre-season event. “It’s always a good feeling to be able to sign some autographs for our fans, man. They pay they hard earned money to come see us play, so this is our opportunity to give it back to them a little bit,” Senior Point Guard Keith Appling said.

A record breaking 50,000 students will pack Michigan State’s campus this year. New restaurants in East Lansing are making for a more vibrant downtown area. And, one MSU Alum decided to turn a rivalry into a charity drive.
