The Capital Area Transit Authority (CATA) plans to implement heated bus stops along major routes as early as next fall. For some East Lansing residents, the addition of the new heated shelters would be a welcome change.Â
At the April 4 meeting East Lansing City Council members approved three resolutions recognizing different minority groups.
Those resolutions recognized April as Autism Awareness Month, acknowledging the Islamic Holy Month of Ramadan and
recognizing March 31 as International Transgender Visibility Day.
Community was the theme of the East Lansing Independent Police Oversight Commission on Mar. 29. The commission invited local and national experts to discuss the use of force by police. The hearing was called after a petition was raised by the people of East Lansing following the shooting of DeAnthony VanAtten in April of last year.
