MSU men’s basketball hosted Alcorn State for an evening contest

Michigan State men’s basketball took the floor again Sunday afternoon to host Alcorn State. The Spartans were looking for a win to close out the homestand, but they would have to do so without their leading scorer, graduate student guard Tyson Walker who was out with an illness. MSU took it in stride, however, and dominated the Braves for the win, 81-49.

Michigan State drops Maui charity exhibition match to Tennessee

Michigan State basketball took the floor Sunday afternoon against No. 9 Tennessee for the second of two exhibition games to start the season. After a dominant victory against Hillsdale on Wednesday, this top-ten matchup gave MSU its first test of the season. Though it was just an exhibition game, the contest had the feeling of a tournament game as the Volunteers took the win late, 89-88.

Michigan State Men’s Soccer draws with Penn State, 0-0.

The Michigan State men’s soccer team played the last of a three-game homestand Sunday afternoon when they took on 25th-ranked Penn State. Both teams were red hot coming into the match. Penn State was riding a four-game winning streak entering Sunday’s game while the Spartans were looking to preserve their unbeaten season. They did so, but not in the way they would’ve hoped as they recorded a 0-0 draw.
