Michigan State University hosted a plant propagation event at Lansing Brewing Company as part of the MSU Science Festival.
Native water protectors walked 310 miles from the Mackinac Bridge to the State Capitol to protest Enbridge’s Line 5 pipeline under the Straits of Mackinac. The group concluded its walk on March 30. People of Three Fires, the Anishinaabe alliance of Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi indigenous tribes, gathered at Adado Riverfront Park on Saturday afternoon. They marched to the Capitol yelling, “Shut Down Line 5” and “Water is Life.”
“Water is a precious thing for life,” said Dennis Durfee of Lansing. “Every part of Earth is dependant on that water for its survival.
Indigenous group marched 300 miles in 30 days to the Capitol to protest Line 5 Shutdown. Gov. Whitmer signed executive orders to stop work on the pipeline project.

Women (and men) from all over the region came to attend the annual Mid-Michigan Women’s Expo at Lansing Center Feb. 8-10. More than 300 exhibits provided a weekend of entertainment and education.
A workshop for seed starting and small-scale planting area was held at Hunter Park GardenHouse for Lansing residents.
Michigan State University hosted an Entrepreneurship Night for the eager minds and potential future entrepreneurs among the student body. The event was Jan. 14 at Business College complex.
