IM softball teams shake hands after a game.

A team for everyone: MSU students enjoy IM sports

Intramural sports, also known as IM, are like their own bubble. Inside IM there are seven leagues such as single-gender, coed, greek life, neighborhoods, and more. Over 25 sports are offered over three semesters and spots fill up quickly. IM sports are a great way for students to get outside and be active with their friends. No experience is required, and all students need to do to play is create a team and pay the small fee that helps fund the equipment necessary to play.

Excitement is high for next men’s basketball season

After a year full of ups and downs for the Michigan State University men’s basketball team, the offseason is finally here, but Tom Izzo and his Spartans are far from taking a break. On Nov. 11, 2022 Izzo inked what would be his best recruiting class to date, and the third best class in the nation for the 2023-24 basketball season.

A sense of normalcy in times of trauma

On Feb. 21, thousands of fans swarmed the entrances of the Jack Breslin Student Event Center to watch the Michigan State University Spartans play basketball. Despite it being a Tuesday night, the arena was sold out, the Izzone was loud, and Tom Izzo’s team was ready to play a solid game of ball. But something was different in the atmosphere.

This was the first basketball game played on campus since the tragic events of Feb. 13.
