Pleasantrees is the first business to sell both medical and recreational cannabis in East Lansing. The business first opened in July, but they expanded their sales to include recreational retail as of Sept. 26.

“Our CEO is an MSU alumni, so that’s why we chose East Lansing,” said Ashton Caswell, the General Manager of Pleasantrees.

The business is also on a mission to give back to the community. They are implementing a nomination system to donate school textbooks to MSU students in need. Pleasantrees is also planting one tree in the area for every pound of cannabis that they sell at the store.

Their second retail location, outside of Michigan, will be announced by the end of this month, said Pleasantrees CEO Randy Buchman.
