MSU Students Required to Have Health Insurance

MSU will now require all students, including freshmen and transfer students, to have some form of health insurance by fall 2012.

The university is offering their own insurance plan with different rates for graduate, undergraduate, and international students.

ASMSU is also offering an insurance plan that they think may be more affordable.  However, students can opt for coverage from a variety of other insurers.

While the university was unavailable for comment, ASMSU Internal Affairs Director Matt York thinks the new regulation is meant for the university to stay competitive and to also follow the direction national health care is headed.
