Paige Kim is a senior at Michigan State University this year, looking forward to graduating in May of 2010 with a degree in broadcast journalism. She was born in Korea and lived there for her whole life until she decided to become an exchange student in the U.S. at the age of 16. Cold weather in Minnesota which she had never encountered before and different American life style did not stop her from appreciating the new experience. When it came to the English language, however, she struggled every single day.
If only she gave up then, it would have been her last time visiting in the U.S. Paige’s original plan to become an exchange student just for a year to experience “American” culture, turned into graduating high school from Grand Rapids Christian High School in Grand Rapids, MI and waiting for a college diploma at MSU.
She does not have an internship yet but is excited to have one soon to see the real world before she graduates. She likes to be both behind and in front of the camera and gets thrilled to go to places for stories. She is still deciding whether she is going back to her homeland or staying in the U.S. Either way, she will be satisfied wherever she goes as long as she is in the braodcasting field.
