Meridian Township to Address Deer Population

Meridian Township is currently investigating the presence of deer in the local community. The DNR is aware of the growing number of deer which can have adverse effects on the local environment. The Meridian Land Preservation Board is responsible for looking into the various alternatives that can be used to address the issue. Some of the problems that can arise from an excessive deer population are diseases and a significant loss of vegetation. The number of deer and automobile accidents have increased as a result of the increased deer presence.
