The Grand Ledge gymnastics’ team won its fifth straight league championship on Saturday. Led by senior Christine Wilson, the lady Comets finished with a season-high score of 150.325. The score was nearly 10 points ahead of second-place Haslett/Willamston/Bath and was its eighth title in the past 10 years for the CAAC, which is the Capital Area Activities Conference. This victory also marked the 73rd straight victory, a state record that dates back to 2007, when Holt defeated them for the state title. Wilson won the all-around competition for Grand Ledge and scored a perfect 10 on the uneven bars.
