INGHAM COUNTY – The Capital Area District Library will start to fine for late books on April 2. The fines for every day a book is late will be 20 cents. Late DVD fees remain at $1 for every late day, but a $2 fine per day for newly released DVDs has been added. Liz Breed, marketing director at the library, said the decision was made to help circulate books and movies to more people faster. “What tends to happen is that people will check out a book and keep it until they’re done reading it,” Breed said.
