On November 8th, President Samuel Stanley sent out an email on the COVID-19 requirements for the spring semester to MSU students, staff, and faculty

“The efforts we have put in place, including a vaccine mandate and required face coverings inside all MSU buildings, have allowed us to help mitigate the spread of the virus,” Stanley wrote in the email. Despite these requirements, COVID cases in the community have increased.

The vaccine requirement will still be enforced in the spring semester. Exemptions for medical and religious reasons will be limited. If an exemption is granted, students will have to participate in the Early Detection Program.

Those with online-only exemptions cannot come to campus for any reason. Students who have had an online-only exemption will need to reapply if they choose to continue their studies remotely. The face mask requirement will still be in effect when inside buildings.

The vaccine verification form will be required for new students before the spring semester starts.

Those who had a religious or medical exemption will not need to reapply for an exemption from the vaccine mandate. However, those with medical end dates or deferrals will need to reapply.

Stanley also mentions approved vaccine boosters in his email. He urges everyone who is eligible to receive a booster when they can do so. The booster will not be required in the vaccine verification process.
