“Wanted a few black people who support the Republican Party, I like everything we stand for. The economics, I was just thinking about where the country is at, not knocking Obama, but I think the Trump administration is great and I wanted to just come and show my support.”
“It was a recharge for me to get my people to go vote for the Republicans. I look at the economy; I look at my stocks, I look at my retirement, everything is great. I look at what was going on before the Trump administration got there with the borders as well as the trade. Being from Detroit and seeing how the unfair trade decimated America, and to see factories coming back, to see the economy strong, to see our borders are more secure.”
Terence Mekoski, senior financial investigator for the Drug Enforcement Association, candidate for Macomb County sheriff, 54
“I’ve had the unique opportunity to work different details with President Trump and Pence, and I’m a strong believer in their message and what they do, and I just love to see the people that come here to support our president and our vice president.”
Mickey Cook, self employed in real estate, 51
“Trump said he wanted to ‘Make America Great Again,’ and I say it’s great in Michigan. So I believe in him, he’s been doing what he said he was going to do, and it’s great to see, and it’s great to see a good, enthusiastic crowd like this. I know he has a lot of them, so wanted to check it out”
Zach Smith, running for county commissioner in St. Clair, 23
“One thing that Pence started talking about is revitalizing the American spirit, and we’re only getting things going. Personally I think it’s great that we’re having this new surge of energy come back into our country, even in our own state of Michigan.”
Floyd Daoust, contract specialist for the United States Army Tank Automotive Command, 73
“I love President Trump, I love what he stands for, especially number one: Religious freedom, it’s number one, and I support everything that he does. If you look at what he has accomplished and what he stands for, in my opinion, it’s fabulous.”
