Teammates aren’t always just teammates. Sometimes they’re family.
The Harding sisters’ blood runs deep in the game of golf. Their father and mother were collegiate golfers — Tom played at Michigan State, while mother Joal played at Auburn. The Hardings come from South Lyon and have always been around the sport.
Caroline Harding, the oldest and a redshirt sophomore golfer for the Spartans, enjoys playing for her dad’s alma mater.
“ I grew up around Michigan State because of my dad,” said Caroline, a double major in business and Spanish. “I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.”
Middle sister Priscilla is also a member of the Spartan golf team. Priscilla says it a great opportunity to get the chance to play alongside her sister.
“ I always find myself asking her for help or guidance,” said Priscilla, a business sophomore. “We grew up competing and learning together, and it’s really neat to be able to play with her at a (Division I) college level. ”
Their younger sister, Elizabeth, is expected to join the team next year.
“The trio will be complete,” joked Priscilla. “We had one year in high school where we all got to play together and placed second in the state. So I’m really looking forward to next year.”
