During last week’s City Council meeting, members of the public voiced their concerns about improper parking in their communities. The focuses of their complaints were cars being parked in yards. Those who spoke out were mostly concerned with the appearance of their neighborhoods being diminished.
In hopes to prevent these issues, the Committee on Public Safety has drafted an amendment to the city’s parking ordinance. Under the new revision, the ordinance will specifically touch on parking in front yards.
The draft currently states, “Parking or storage of motor vehicles in a front yard within a residential district is prohibited.”
