Emanuele Berry is fascinated by people. This fascination led her to purse two majors at Michigan State University: journalism and liberal arts (RCAH).

Emanuele is the news director and a producer at the award winning college radio station WDBM 89.9 FM. During her time at Michigan State University, she interned at local public radio station WKAR 90.5 FM, and  also assisted in analyzing digital literacy programs for the Knight Center in Detroit.  In addition to radio, Emanuele has worked on two documentary films; one about urban agriculture and the other about Chinese students. Emanuele is the winner of the 2011  RTDNA Ed Bradley Scholarship.

A Lansing native,  Emanuele has continually seeks out opportunities to engage with the community. She collaborated on an oral history project with Michigan’s Asian Pacific American Association. Weekly, she volunteers her time visiting a local high school to develop students’ creative writing skills. Emanuele is also working on a Photovoice project through RCAH.

Emanuele’s dream is to produce/host her own show on public radio or TV, combining her love of storytelling and community engagement.
