Kaley is pursuing a degree in journalism with a concentration in electronic news as well as a degree in public policy at Michigan State University. In addition to reporting for Capital News Service, Kaley also interns in the district office of a U.S. Congressman. She hopes to someday work in Washington, D.C. as a political reporter. Originally from Wisconsin, Kaley is enjoying exploring Michigan and taking in all of the beauty the state has to offer. Laura is a journalism major at Michigan State University with a concentration in media marketing. In addition to reporting for Capital News Service, Laura is a newsroom intern at The State News and serves as a campus tour guide for Michigan State University’s Office of Outreach. She has a strong interest in covering issues such as safety and education and enjoys covering policy as well. Outside of journalism, Laura’s interests range in communications, social media and marketing. She is from right outside of Philly and will be graduating from MSU in the spring of 2018.
Jack Nissen is a current graduate student at Michigan State University. With an emphasis in environmental journalism, he also writes for Great Lakes Echo. Jack has experience in video, audio and digital media.

Stephen Olschanski is a junior at Michigan State pursuing degrees in journalism and political science. Outside of Capital News Service, Stephen has recorded bylines at The State News and The Detroit News. Stephen has covered a host of things including city government, the MSU football team and the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. Stephen hopes to pursue a career in telling the stories of the politicians of Washington, D.C.
