Clinton County residents have a free, year-round option for disposal of unwanted controlled medication thanks to a cooperative effort between the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and Clinton County Department of Waste Management. The new program involves cooperation with the Michigan Department of Agriculture’s Clean Sweep program. A marked drop box has been placed in the lobby of the sheriff’s office, 1347 E. Townsend Rd. in St. Johns, and is available during regular business hours – Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sparrow Clinton Hospital Pharmacy can accept all non-controlled pills, tablets and liquids year round, free of charge through the Old Drug Yellow Jug program. Other locations accepting non-controlled medications can be found athttp://www.greatlakescleanwater.org/id17.html. Many people tend to look over disposing of their medications, so this is a wonderful way to make that happen. This is a great opportunity for Clinton County Residents to get rid of their medications safe and effectively.
