MSU students find joy in campus’s furry friends

One essential for Spartans to pack for a walk around campus: a bag of nuts. At least for Michigan State University zoology junior Margaret “Maggie” Babiarz, this is a must-have item. The influence being her love for one animal in particular, the MSU squirrels. “Personally, I carry nuts in my backpack all the time,” Babiarz said. “When I’m walking to class, I can feed a squirrel, and I think a lot of people have been doing the same.”
Not only is she a friend to the squirrels, but “Madam President of the Squirrels,” according to her Instagram bio.
