Networking and collaboration is vital to the growth of Old Town. To accomplish this, the Old Town Commercial Association has been putting on an event called Wake Up Old Town. “Wake Up Old Town first and foremost is a networking event for people to come together, both Old Town and people that can serve Old Town businesses,” said Old Town Commercial Association Executive Director, Austin Ashley. “It’s a great time for us to collaborate and come together as a community.” During the event that takes place the first Friday of every month, it looks like a family reunion.

Old Town Lansing — If you’re an early riser, Wake Up Old Town is the perfect opportunity to network and discover new ways to effectively run a business in today’s economy. Wake up and network

Wake Up Old Town is held at 9 a.m. on the first Friday of every month at an Old Town business and is open to anyone. The location of Wake Up Old Town rotates every month to a new store; this month’s venue was Great Lakes Artworks, located on E. Grand River Avenue. Great Lakes Artworks board member Richard Lott said Wake Up Old Town is a networking opportunity for people with businesses in Old Town and for those who might have an interest in the Old Town Commercial Association but aren’t currently part of it. “It’s a chance to meet other owners and you find out how they’re doing and how they’re doing it — then you can apply that to your own business,” Lott said.
