Many paths to travel

OLD TOWN LANSING – There are many paths into an enjoyable job; and as high school seniors prepare to graduate, go to college, or enter the workforce, looking at the paths others have chosen might help ease some anxiety. Michigan State University graduates
There are studies that show only a fraction of college graduates find jobs in the field they went to college for. Kathy Holcomb, owner of Absolute Gallery in Old Town, said her degrees from the Lyman Briggs program at Michigan State University gave her skills she still uses in her work. “So much of the math, so much of the sciences, the chemistries is stuff I use every day,” Holcomb said. “But it’s not necessarily what you think you would use.”

Holcomb said she went to school to become a veterinarian.
