Book coverTexas Gov. Greg Abbott announced today his state would not allow refugees to resettle there this budget year.

In explaining his ban, Abbott said Texas takes in 10% of the countries refugees and that 100,000 migrants were apprehended crossing the border in May.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that Russell Smith, CEO of Refugee Services of Texas, said Abbott mirrored confusion about border security, immigration and refugees.
