Lindsey Rabinowitz is a journalism student at Michigan State University and plans to graduate in 2020. Lindsey is from the north suburbs of Chicago and loves to be outdoors and experience new adventures. She describes herself as organized, punctual and passionate.
Erin Schrode founded her first nonprofit, Turning Green, when she was 13. Since then, she has done many things to make the world greener. Including, running for Congress at the age of 24, implementing lunch programs in schools around her hometown, and opening kitchens in Puerto Rico.
The Okemos board of education voted to lock all the doors on the district’s public schools. The idea of putting locks and buzzers on the doors was initially thought of in the fall, however it became more urgent by the Feb. 14 school shooting in Parkland, Florida, and more recent bomb threats at Okemos High School and Nexus Academy.
Ingham County students joined thousands from across the country in a March 14 school walkout to commemorate the 17 victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacred in Florida and to lobby for school safety and gun control.
