Kalah Harris is a journalism student at Michigan State University. Having a focus in Broadcasting, Kalah aspires to be a reporter on E News. Not following the traditional broadcasting route, Kalah is interested in the entertainment news aspect of journalism. Being apart of organizations on campus such as National Association of Black Journalist (NABJ) and Black Media Entertainment (BME) allows Kalah to further develop her broadcasting skills outside the classroom. Kalah's expected graduation date is December 2020.
The pandemic has caused discomfort for many people and taken away activities that normally would be indulged in. One local pub and brewery changed that for their customers. EagleMonk Pub and Brewery has live music every Wednesday. People come in and enjoy food and drinks. However, the real fun is when you enter the “beer garden”.
East Lansing- The mandatory quarantine was lifted earlier this month. Over thirty sororities, fraternities and apartments were in a three-week quarantine. This quarantine was ordered by Ingham County Health Officer Linda Vail. The criteria for being placed in quarantine was a simple and discrete process. “It [house] was licensed for at least ten people to live there and there was a known case or known exposure there,” said Vail.

DETROIT, Mich- When Bucharest Grill reopened on June 8, manager Ricardo Vidal was ready to serve good food and keep customers safe. “Anybody has to wear a mask coming into the restaurant,” Vidal said. “I think it’s better, it’s safer for everybody both my staff and the customers.”
Whitmer announced June 1 that the stay-at-home order will be lifted for restaurants, retail stores, day camps for children, pools, nail salons, spas and more in the then upcoming weeks. Restaurants are now allowed to have customers come inside of their establishments but at only 50% of its original capacity while following additional rules.
