Governor Whitmer seeks road repairs

Many Michigan roads are in need of repair. Temporary fixes sometimes result in costing taxpayers more money. At Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s State of the State address, she proposed $3.5 billion in bonds go to road repair.

Road projects are planned to begin as soon as this summer and will focus on main roads and highways.

This is Whitmer’s second attempt at funding road projects. Last year she attempted to increase gas prices by 45 cents but was unsuccessful.
