Crown Boxing Club has been a staple in the Lansing area for almost 30 years. Providing the Lansing community with a great sweat through their various boxing classes.

But for students, three days a week, they are able to to hit the bag or hop in the ring for free.

“The program that we have is a free program for all the youth in the Lansing area,” said head coach Ali Easley.

Making the classes available to everyone was one of Easley’s top priorities. He’d rather have his kids in the gym and improving, but not only improving on their jab.

“I get a lot of satisfaction out of it by seeing the growth and development of the kids,” said Easley. “Seeing them do better in school, seeing that they’re not getting arrested or in trouble.”

One way Easley is able to help his students is by turning his gym into a tutor session.

“When we’re done they have an hours worth of tutoring were their fed and they take care of their homework assignments everything for the next day,” said Easley.

Easley really wants to help every kid that comes to his gym, through all the different rounds of life.
