Animal shelters around the country came together with the Bissell Pet Foundation to help animals displaced by recent hurricanes Irma and Harvey.
The Bissell Pet Foundation sponsored this event, giving donations to cover all adoption costs.
During the “Empty the Shelter” event, every adoption was free and pets looked to find their forever homes.
Katyln Turner, a shelter communications director, expressed that every animal is looking for their permanent home.
“They all deserve a nice warm bed, food, water, and cuddles everyday. That’s what we want for all of our pets and these guys are somebody’s pets, just in waiting,” Turner said.
The event was a successful day for the shelter, finding most of the animals a new home.
