The event is expanding tremendously. With people from other communities coming check out the popular event, the zoo has added a third weekend. Boo at the Zoo takes place Oct.14-15, 21-22, and 28-29.
According to Lansing resident Amy Wheeler, the weekend is for any ages, big or small, to experience a great weekend at the zoo. Boo at the Zoo has stations, hayrides, a straw maze, the boo tunnel, and more.
Dannah Hinesburg from Grand Rapids said “I visit Boo at the Zoo with my family every year because we don’t have anything similar like this on the west side of Michigan, so this is a great opportunity to go out, take the kids on a mini road trip and we all have a great time here at Potter Park” Regular zoo exhibits will be open throughout the festivities for everyone to see the animals.
“Attendance for the event is expected to exceed 10,000. With 80 plus volunteers this year, Potter Park is expecting the families to enjoy themselves, take some candy and cider home, but also learn more about the animals,” said Jenine Vince, a volunteer who has been helping out since 2014.
