For the first time in 12 years, the Capital City will be hosting the Michigan Township Association Conference & Expo.
This year’s theme is “come together” which will allow the unique talent brought forth by over 1,000 other township officials to collaborate and create success in each of their communities.
Lansing Township will provide its guests with the “experience Lansing Township” tour through Eastwood Towne Center, said Lansing Township Supervisor Diontrae Hayes. The conference will bring networking opportunities for unity amongst officials all working towards a common goal.
According to Julie Pingston, who is the senior vice president and chief operating officer for the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau, the host hotels will be including a shuttle service from the conference to the hotels.
“The event is expecting to bring about 1,200 delegates to our community. Most delegates will be staying overnight, eating out and enjoying our community so the impact is expected to be quite large,” Pingston said. “The Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau has a number of initiatives to welcome the delegates as well as to provide them with plenty of information to know all that our community has to offer.”
Lansing Township will provide guests staying at any of the three Eastwood hotels “swag bags” filled with snacks, custom cups with the Lansing Township logo and coupons from Eastwood retail.
“The ‘experience Lansing Township’ experience I want to provide for the guests allows us to provide the amenities the township has to offer and show them there’s more going on in the region than they thought,” Hayes said. “The conference is ideal for any local leader by being able to share and collaborate ideas. Anything to make the township better and benefit the people is a win for me.”
