Mid-Michigan’s weather was being unpredictable the Saturday afternoon that MSU’s Greek life day of service was hosted.

However, outside it was below freezing, wet and snowy.

The sisters of Alpha Ki Omega gathered at Fenner Nature Center for a chance pitch in and make the park a little nicer.

“It’s chilly, but I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.” said Ruta Ulcinaite, one of the sisters.

And across the Lansing area, members of MSU’s Greek Life had spread out across parks for a little spring cleaning.

At Fenner Nature Center, mulch needed to be spread and play area needed to be picked up. The sisters got into groups and spread across the park.

Greek Day of service is one of MSU’s largest outreach programs according to Erica Childo, who was managing the operation.

Erica also saw this even as an opportunity, she said “I think it’s great for us to shed light on a misconception of Greek Life.”

It does show that rain or shine, MSU’s Greek community can show up to help out.

Or even April snow shower.
