ST. JOHNS — Some use the winter season to be inside to stay warm, others snowboard and ski, while others find ways to practice their golf swing and continue working on their game to prepare for the spring season.
Troy Looney, Superintendent at the Emerald, 2300 W. Maple Rapids Road in St. Johns, makes sure the course is well-maintained throughout the winter. Looney and his crew of workers do everything in their power to make sure that the winter season has no effect on the course for spring play, which it doesn’t.
The Emerald is in great shape right now and is open for golfers to walk the course and play. The official opening date is April 4.
