LANSING TOWNSHIP – This October Eastwood Towne Center will be adding a store to its lineup of storefronts. In between the American Eagle and Express stores will be a new J. Jill store, which focuses on women’s apparel, accessories and shoes.
“J. Jill has been renovating the space since August,” said Vice President and Leasing Director of Eastwood Towne Center Greg Goldberg. “They are expected to open in late October.”
The addition of this store will add to the list of apparel outfitters such as Banana Republic, J. Crew and the Gap. Unlike these stores that are already established in the Towne Center though, J. Jill focuses on strictly women’s fashion.
This new J. Jill will help to fill an absence that the Towne Center has not necessarily filled yetand should help draw in more people to the mall.
There are other stores in the outdoor mall that also appeal to solely women like Victoria’s Secret, but J. Jill takes a calmer approach to filling this niche. On their website J. Jill states that they have a “relaxed approach to style” and their clothing is “designed for real life.”In comparison Victoria’s Secret appeals to a more fast paced lifestyle.
The mall continues to add new stores to diversify its offerings, as seen by the recent opening of the Sephora store this summer and the new Apple Store this past August.
Goldberg declined to comment on pending lease negotiations, but he did say that “[Eastwood Towne Center] is excited with its recent additions and is looking forward to announcing new tenants soon.”Currently there are still six empty storefronts at the mall.
