Tuesday, Oct. 1, was the third annual Halloween Spooktacular at Jack and Jill Children’s Consignment Boutique in Mason.

The Spooktacular is an event for the display and sales of all secondhand Halloween costumes storeowners Renae Akright and Michelle Kangas have collected since summer.

Doors for regular shoppers closed at 5:30 p.m. and reopened at 6 p.m. for the sale. The sale ended at 8 p.m.

There was a line outside the store before the doors were reopened, said Kangas. She said this year had a good turnout.

Kangas said the Halloween Spooktacular gives everyone “first dibs” on children’s costumes. There was punch, Halloween candy and cookies at the sale.

The store held its first Spooktacular in 2011, the year it held its grand opening. They’re normally held at the beginning of October.

This boutique sells clothing for both genders from sizes newborn to 14 kids.
