Uncle John’s Cider Mill in Saint Johns celebrated the first day of fall by hosting Kids Fest.
The Saturday and Sunday afternoon event included bounce houses, tractor rides, face painting, pumpkin picking, a corn maze and treats such as cider, doughnuts and apples.
According to Uncle John’s employee Makayla Tyler, Kids Fest attracts people from all around Michigan. “It’s really busy,” said Tyler. “We have lines out the door throughout the whole day.”
This was Tyler’s second year working during Kids Fest. She said the commotion brought excitement to her job.
Kyle Mellinn, his wife Bridget, and their two children, Frances and Finnegan, spent the whole day at Kids Fest. This was a tradition for the Melinns said Kyle. “We try to make it out to Uncle John’s at least once every year.”
The Melinns began frequenting Uncle John’s five years ago when their daughter Finnegan was born. “It seems like every fall the games and all of this have just kind of expanded,” Said Kyle.
The day included Finnegan’s favorite activity, the bounce houses, as well as one-year-old Frances’s first doughnut “He ate the whole thing” said Bridget.
