What make a candidate stand out in the presidential election? MSU students and professors gave different opinions. Journalism professor Fred Fico said it was the direction candidates wanted to take the government that made them stand out. Fico wanted small and honest government. Emily Green, an undergraduate student at MSU, said an eligible candidate should be part of American people and helped everyone rather than certain groups. “It depends on what they stand for,” said an engineering student. “I think it’s not a party’s rhetoric,” said a communication student. “It’s very hard to find someone in the moderate, especially in the right wing,” he added.
