Gary Heilig is a Horticulture Educator for Michigan State University Extension, and is giving a free lawn-care seminar on Thursday, April 12 at Holt Junior High.
The seminar will take place from 6-8pm. Heilig will provide advice on how to evaluate your lawn and develop a plan to help your lawn be all that it can be.
Topics will include controlling annual and perennial weeds, fertilization, grubs and moles watering and lawn renovation, zoysia grass, and the new phosphorus law. The seminar will conclude with a Q & A session.
Heilig has been giving annual programs for about four years, and has been a Horticulture Educator for Ingham County for almost 31 years. Heilig is a graduate of MSU specializing in fruit and vegetable production.
Heilig has a passion for what he does.
“I have a small fruit and vegetables orchard in Eaton Rapids, where we grow apple pears, peaches, strawberries, blueberries and various veggies that we preserve and sell at local markets,” Heilig said.
Heilig also has several gardening videos on YouTube, along with live streaming online gardening classes.
Space for the seminar is limited, so register here.
