A new teacher hired by the Grand Ledge Public Schools received approval by the school board at their meeting Monday night.

Amanda Salmon is joining the Grand Ledge Public Schools system after teaching at Lansing Community schools for 6 years, yet she has lived in Grand Ledge for 7 years.

Salmon is expected to teach elementary school and be a Title 1 teacher for Grand Ledge Public Schools. Salmon said she looks forward to finally coming aboard and bringing her knowledge to Grand Ledge.

All board members welcomed Salmon after approving the motion.

“We’re so glad to have you,” President Linda Wacyk said with a smile after Salmon was officially added to the Grand Ledge Public Schools staff.
