While covering a story this weekend at the farmers market, I ran into some unhappy people when it came to the camera. As I was taking pictures of a women buying products from the market, a man yelled at me for taking pictures and asked what I was doing. I told him I was a MSU student, doing a story on the market. He told me he thought I was competition.
I took another picture of a group of people who were buying from a vendor. The women at the vendor looked at me, and shook her head, as if I were doing something horribly wrong.
My note to the public: One, reporters are aloud to take pictures, and two, there are many vendors that sell carrots, bread, and cucumbers. Everyone is in competition.
