Lansing defeats millage issue

Editor’s note: We apologize that we were not staffed to cover the important May 3 millage vote in Lansing.

The Lansing State Journal reported that voters defeated the millage, 7,039-6,438.

We were not staffed because The Lansing Star is entirely written by Michigan State students and the millage election was held after classes ended.

I know. That’s a a pretty odd excuse. But we are what we are. We had had fun covering the City of Lansing, talking to people, taking pictures and writing. We hope some of it was useful to you. More students will be back in the middle of the summer. That semester will begin July 2.

Students are already signing up to cover Lansing’s news in the fall and winter and we will be looking at the effects of the millage results. So, please come back. We will have new students doing their best to bring you what matters to Lansing. As always, you make our work mean something when you read or view it, and we love your suggestions. You may comment on any story on The Lansing Star.
