Michigan State University’s Department of Art and Art History hosted the annual Apparel and Textile Design Fashion Show on February 26, which boasted looks from over forty student designers. The show, which was held in the Wharton Center’s Pasant Theatre, attracted close to six hundred fashion enthusiasts who came out to cheer on the student designers.

One designer, Lauren Paulauskas, featured three original designs in the show.  Paulauskas drew inspiration from jelly fish, a painting she drew for her twin brother, and the lines of the art nouveau period to create her avant-garde designs.  Paulauskas logged over 300 hours sketching and sewing her pieces together for the show. Paulauskas was in charge of all of the graphics and advertising for the show and was also the head of the staging committee.
