Students thinking about leaving East Lansing after Graduation may want to reconsider. In the ecities 2010 report, East Lansing was listed in the top seven performing cities for fostering entrepreneurship and economic development. Also, in another story by the Milken Insititue, the East Lansing- Lansing area was rated seventh highest in job growth in the country.
The City of East Lansing accredits the recent recognitions to the Innovation Technology Center and having higher education in the area such as LCC and MSU. The Technology Innovation Center is a place where entrepreneurs can conduct and grow their businesses. The Hatch is another center in the works, geared towards students with new ideas.
