Behind the Scenes: Show #3

Hello, and welcome back to Focal Point.

This week, I am focusing on the cast, asking the famous faces of our show how they like thier positions and what is involved in each. Tonight we will be talking to J Brooks & Anthon Sabella, our lovely anchors. Also, we will be talking to Paige, Marty Berman & Jonathan McEmber, our chroma anchors!

Lead Anchors

Lead Anchors: J Brooks & Anthony Sabella

J

J Brooks:

Why do you like being an anchor? Honestly it is a huge challenge, and I like it! Anchoring gives me the opportunity to see what I am good at and see what I have to work on more. I like how I get to showcase my work and work at becoming an anchor!

What is the most nerve-racking part of being an anchor? I find the Teleprompter very scary. I get pretty nervous about fumbling my words and having inaccurate annunciation.

If you could co-anchor with any celebrity, who would you choose? Beyonce, because she is my favorite person ever!

Anthony

Anthony Sabella:

Why do you like being an anchor? This is actually my first night being an anchor! I really like being in front of the camera though. Teleprompter is hard to read, but I love the challenge. I hope to have a career in broadcasting so this is great practice for my future career. Over all, I love the challenge of.

What is the most nerve-racking part of being an anchor? I definitely don’t want to mess up and go, “skndjisfqm!” J I always have to make sure not to stutter and longer scripts are sometimes hard when your mouth dries out.

If you could co-anchor with any celebrity, who would you choose? Adam Sandler because he is so funny!

Chroma Anchors

Chroma anchors: Paige, Marty Berman & Jonathan McEmber

Paige

Paige Kim:

What is your favorite thing about anchoring? I like informing people about things that they want to know and I like being the person who is delivering the information!

Do you plan on becoming an anchor in the future? Yes, hopefully! I would atleast like to be involved in the broadcasting feild. I would love to be an broadcast anhor anywhere international, specifically CNN international!

Marty

Marty Berman:

I always hear the directing saying “cue chorma!” What exactly is chroma? Chroma is the “Green Screen” behind the anchors. It allows for any image to key in the background of the shot. Ours happens to be a Focal Point Spartan emblem.

If you could be the lead anchor on any prime time channel, which would you choose? CNN! That would be the most incredible job that I could ever have.

Jonathan

Jonathan McEmber:

Is it hard not to move around while standing in front of the camera? So many people go up on camera and get stiff. The most important thing to remember is that you are with friends and you are able to laugh and be yourself. I always try loose and friendly, allowing myself to drop my nervousness.

If you could be the lead anchor on any prime time channel, which would you choose? It really wouldn’t matter what station I was anchoring for, as long as you could get a break. My dream and passion is to become an anchor and doing this anywhere would be amazing.
