Tailgating started a little later than usual last week when Michigan State played Notre Dame under the lights near Spartan Stadium. The wet weather did not stop both Irish and Spartan fans from enjoying a tailgate before the game.

Fans braved the weather and played tailgate games. Some fans were extra prepared for their tailgate party. “I bring the TV, I bring the satellite, I bring the food, I bring the drink. You can’t get any better than right there,” said Nathan Reinhardt.

Spartans young and old grilled food and spent time together. “I enjoy spending time with my daughters, my daughter’s friends. It’s a good time,” said Dave Lucas.

Tailgaters listened to music and mingled together hours before kickoff. Tailgaters brought rain boots, umbrellas, and other rain gear for the game. However, the weather cleared up before kickoff. Michigan State went on to beat Notre Dame 34-31 in overtime.
