Come November 1st, Soldan Dog Park may be charging a fee of $40 for residents or $25 for students. This is on top of the fee to enter the main entrance to the dog park, through Hawk Island. Not many people know about the other entrance into the dog park through Scott Woods with a free parking area provided through Ingham County Regional Medical Center.
The money acquired from the new fee will go to the maintenance of the park and the addition of a new electronic key system. Many dog owners are upset about the new fee but like the idea of the electronic key system to access the park. Dog owners will be required to give information about the dogs including if they have up to date shots.
