Its been less then a week since Jean Baker and Jen Loforese made history as one of 300 gay couples to legally get married in Michigan.

And more good news for those couples Friday morning.

The US Attorney General issued a statement saying that the same-sex marriages performed last Saturday in Michigan will be recognized by the federal government.

But those couples are not getting state benefits.

That’s because Michigan Attorney General Bill Schoote, appealed asking the courts to suspend the judge’s decision to allow gay marriages.
