Perry Parks was the CNS bureau chief for spring 2017.
Perry is a doctoral candidate in the School of Journalism and Information & Media program at MSU. He has been a reporter and editor at various posts in North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Michigan and has covered capitol news in Raleigh, Richmond, Lansing and Washington, D.C. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from Northwestern University and is author of “Making Important News Interesting: Reporting Public Affairs in the 21st Century.

Capital News Service copy chief (Spring 2017)

Sheila O’Brien Schimpf is a former newspaper reporter and columnist and is currently the copy chief for Capital News Service. She also covered Michigan legal and financial news for BNA.com in Washington D.C. for five years.  She has two degrees in Journalism and taught several classes at Michigan State University. She is the author of two breed books about Yorkshire Terriers and Golden Retrievers published by TFH.
