MEDICAL SOCIETY AHEAD: On Monday, Nov. 4, correspondents will interview Kenneth Elmassian, president of the Michigan State Medical Society. Possible topics include supply of physicians in lower-income parts of the state, capacity of the medical profession to serve the expanded number of insured and Medicaid patients and state regulation of the health professions.

OSPREY: Osprey, once disappearing in the state, are rebounding with 50 breeding pairs in Southeast Michigan. Researchers at the Detroit International Wildlife Refuge tagged some this year to track their migration patterns, including one born in Monroe County that made it to Cuba. By Evan Kreager.
