Dogs brave rough conditions to go on their own Easter egg hunt

It was a windy and rainy day at Hawk Island Park in Lansing, but dogs still showed up to hunt for some treats. On March 31, about 20 volunteers from the Ingham County Animal Shelter Fund spread 1,000 plastic eggs filled with grain-free treats across the grass, and dozens of dogs lined up to sniff them out. There were three separate sections for each size of dog. Once the announcer gave the go-ahead, they were off. Small, medium and large dogs sniffing the ground and occasionally coming across an egg with a prize inside.

No off-season for MSU’s Zeke the Wonderdog

If you’ve been to a Michigan State football game, then you have probably seen the the Spartans’ frisbee-catching canine, Zeke the Wonderdog. Zeke is on the field with his owner, running around and catching frisbees. With each one he catches, the crowd often gets louder and louder. Zeke isn’t just known for halftime of the MSU football games. He is a celebrated figure in the Michigan State community.

MSU students looking forward to Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and MSU students are ready for family time and their favorite home-cooked meals. Journalism major Madison Loney said she is looking forward the most to being with her family and the Thanksgiving dinner. “In my family my mom is the best cook she makes stuffing,” Loney said. Media and information student Keiahna Dunbar-Reppuhn plans on staying home and working for the holiday. “I’m just gonna go to the movies and make some turkey,” Dunbar-Reppuhn said.
