Charter Township of Lansing Administration Building

Address: 3209 West Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48917
Hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Township Assessor: Scott Cunningham (517-485-2272)

Lansing Township’s assessor’s office is an integral part of the township because it is where taxes are collected. “For local government, the only requirements for townships are to have tax assessing and elections,” Lansing Township Deputy Supervisor and Deputy Assessor DeeAnn Overton said. “The assessor determines what the value of a property is and we create the tax roll based on that information.” Scott Cunningham is the current Township Assessor. According to the township’s website, he determines the value of more than 4,300 “parcels” within the township. These numbers are based off of Michigan law. “Without taxes, there would be no support for the public safety or equipment to run the township we have,” Overton said.
