Starbucks has opened a new location across the street from Eastwood Towne Center.
The 2,208 square foot coffee shop at 2624 Lake Lansing Road features a drive-through and nitro cold brew taps. The two-story building, which once housed a bank, has been renovated for other retail and office tenants.
“It can take a minute for Starbucks to really get busy but I think it will be a pretty popular one,” said Lansing resident Faith Moore.
Moore, who also works as a barista at another Starbucks location, is excited about this new location.
“The atmosphere of this one is different than most Starbucks. I like it, it’s more open, there’s like more light coming in,” said Moore. “It’s newer so the tables and setup are different. So, it’s kind of a nice change.”
Starbucks Barista Shyanne Conerly is also excited about the new location.
“Each location has its own unique personality. I feel like our store is more open so it’s more comfortable, (for example) our bigger bars and all the customers can see what’s going on and how we make their drinks,” she said.
Both Moore and Conerly have noticed how the store traffic is starting to pick up as more people become aware of the location.
“It can take a minute for Starbucks to really get busy but I think it will be a pretty popular one,” said Moore.
Conerly said that “because we’re a new store, people are just now figuring out where we are, it’s been picking up, it’s getting busy.”
